Of course, there is no trip to Thurso in Scotland complete without a trip to Land’s End and the Orkney’s.
I was much more mesmerized by the stunning coastline: rugged, beautiful, cold, home to Picts and the reception of invaders. Today, of course, we are more likely to see the distant outline of oil rigs than that of Viking sails, but the beauty, remoteness and mystery of the place remains. And the fact that my partner comes from there has nothing to do with my romantic view of it!!!
A trip to Dunrobin Castle and more rugged views of the scenery have inspired more work to come for 2016!
